Nickel Catalyst - SCAT 2234 (Fatty Acid Hydrogenation)

Nickel Catalyst for Fatty Acid Hydrogenation SCAT – 2234 is the result of a dry reduction process. The catalyst is appreciated for its high performance and filtration characteristics. It is highly dispersed Nickel Catalyst on a siliceous support with the protection of hydrogenated refined oil. The optimum combination of nickel, promoter and support promotes resistance against poison and is versatile over a wide range of feedback.

The nickel catalyst is used in the chemical industry lower down I.Vs at rapid speed. Moreover, it is also meant for hydrogenation of industrial oils like Rice Bran Oils, Acid Oils, Distilled Rice Bran, Palm Fatty Acid Distillate, Mixed Crude Fatty Acids and others.

SCAT – 2234 is a high activity, highly dispersed promoted Nickel Catalyst, on a siliceous support, protected in fully hydrogenated refined oil, produced by a dry reduction process.

Suhans Dry reduced Nickel Catalyst grade SCAT –2234, is a rugged warhorse, exhibiting extreme resistance to poisons as well as fast hydrogenation speeds to low I.Vs. A combination of Regulated particle size, promoter and support ensure –

Application It is used for hydrogenation of fatty acid to low I.V’s at rapid speeds to manufacture products such as stearic acid.

Suitable to process fatty acid rich feedstock such as Distilled Rice Bran Fatty Acid, Distilled Palm Fatty Acid, Rice Bran Fatty Acid Distillate, Palm Fatty Acid Distillate, Acid Oil Distilled Fatty Acids and Distillates, Mixed Crude Fatty Acids and Fatty Acid Rich Oils such as Rice Bran Oil, Acid Oils, Rice Bran Wax etc

Nickel Catalyst - SCAT 2203 (Edible Oil Hydrogenation)

This is a well-dispersed Nickel Catalyst, on a siliceous support, protected in fully hydrogenated refined vegetable oil, produced by a dry reduction process. Poison resistance, good reuse properties and good filtration characteristics are the main features of this grade.

Application It is used for Partial or full, non selective, hydrogenation of Refined oils such as Palm olein, Palm Kernal Oil, Palm Stearin, Soya, Rice Bran, Cotton seed, Mustard, Rapeseed, Corn, Sunflower, Coconut, and Canola.

Handling & Storage

The Nickel Catalyst has the special way of handling and storage for effective performance:

Handling:

  • Personnel should wear full protective clothes to avoid the contact of skin with nickel
  • Minimize the production of dust by putting it into container for proper disposal
  • Drains, sewers or watercourses should be covered properly
  • Wash the hands immediately before breaks and after handling of nickel

Storage:

  • Keep the spent catalyst in plastic bags, metal or HDPE drums
  • Drums should always be covered with metal rings
  • Drum should be labeled properly as “Spent Nickel Catalyst”
  • Label must comprise details like gross, tare and net weights, drum no., seal no., supplier name along with contact details
  • Drums must be keep in upright positions to avoid any spillage
  • It should be stored in demarcated shaded area away from production and storage area
  • Evade the direct contact with heat and light

Nickel Catalyst - SCAT 2201 (Edible Oil Hydrogenation)

This is a well-dispersed Nickel Catalyst, on a siliceous support, protected in fully hydrogenated, refined vegetable oil, produced by a dry reduction process. This grade has very high linoleate selectivity, necessary to produce the required oxidation stability and texture in table oils and Vanaspati Ghee.

It has good Trans Isomer Selectivity which is required for the production of cocoa butter substitutes and vegetable creamers.
